We offer high quality, stand-alone or combined photography, video, scriptwriting, editing and narration services.
With London and Yorkshire roots, we're a creative team of two, based in North Shields, near Newcastle upon Tyne.
our story
WHAT IS THE NORTHERN STORYBOARD?
Simon Meyer and Rachael Meyer combine skills and years of experience in photography, video, scriptwriting and human storytelling, under the umbrella of The Northern Storyboard. We're ideal partners commercial businesses, community communications and individuals who want to share stories through any medium.
To the commercial table, we bring professional photography, filming, video production, scriptwriting, video editing and comms experiences. We combine that with up to date knowledge and execution of successful social media campaigns. We operate like an agency, without the price tag of a large studio; and without the limitations of an employee or a single discipline operator. In a nutshell, we offer senior level delivery with personality, flexibility and reliability.
Rachael is also an accredited humanist celebrant, offering highly personalised wedding, funeral and celebration of life ceremonies with human warmth, exceptional interviewing, writing and event management skills.
Whatever your needs, we work as a team to design your storytelling and we deliver it in a range of photography, video and writing packages.
From hard-hitting awards videos to video campaigns that galvanise pride in place, we create stories that are human in tone. With a can-do attitude, our style is friendly, inquisitive, collaborative and story-led. Our visual work and our ceremony work come highly recommended. We are known for our excellent working relationships and high quality of work.
We understand regional identity, civic context, and the power of a good story. We also understand the need to creatively disseminate information succinctly to your community - whoever your community is.
We've been involved in incredibly exciting projects. We've worked on a multitude of awards nights, exhibitions and conferences. We've told stories of food production and sustainability, science, animal health, law, architecture, construction, engineering, physical and mental health, diversity and inclusion, retail, music, arts and cultural heritage. And we've told a lot of personal stories of hardship, bravery, inspiration. Of life and love.
We are not limited to two. For large-scale and national projects, we can bolster our team with trusted photographers, animators, videographers, graphic designers and we also partner with an epic hyper local social media partner with a wide reach.
Through all aspects of our work, we are good at talking to people about anything - including highly sensitive subjects and we edit positively, with honesty and with integrity. Several government agencies trust us to produce thoughtful narratives for recruitment, internal training, cultural and public facing communications.
